Mark Rosenzweig (whispers)  > Travel > Pleasure Beach Blackpool
After years and years of wanting to visit Blackpool, a business trip finally brought me there in October of 2007. Despite having a limited 3 hour period to sample the park, it blew away my high expectations. Anyone remotely interested in amusement parks (and especially their history) owes it to themselves to visit Pleasure Beach Blackpool.

Mark Rosenzweig (whispers) > The trip kicked off with a visit to Alton Towers for their Halloween Event. Because of lack of time and light that we had in the park, there are only a few photos here leading to the Blackpool photos- not quite enough for their own gallery. Here we are navigating the narrow streets of Stoke-on-Trent enroute to the park. It has always amazed me how Europe's large theme parks have such small access roads.

Mark Rosenzweig (whispers) > The Forbidden Valley skyride station suffered a severe fire just a few days after our visit.
Mark Rosenzweig (whispers) > If you're short on time at Alton Towers (as we were), you really need not leave Forbidden Valley. Air was easily the best flying coaster I had yet to experience, and Nemesis is a totally off the charts old-school kick ass B&M masterpiece.
Mark Rosenzweig (whispers) > Dinner at the "Carvery". Plenty of meat products, beer, and non-dessert puddings.
